NORCROSS, Ga. — Home furnishings marketing company Imagine Advertising & Publishing has developed a promotion for the TRIB Group’s member rent-to-own operators tied to “The Angry Birds Movie” coming to theaters May 20.
Imagine teamed up with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Rovio Studios to develop the colorful “The Angry Birds Movie — Best of the Nest” promotion, which will run from April 15 through June 20. It features co-branded television spots produced with Sony Pictures and Rovio; print circulars, direct mail, in-store point-of-purchase kits, a Web landing page for each retailer, Web banners, social media creative, Web videos, toy giveaways and more. An example circular provided by Imagine promotes free tickets to the family-friendly, 3D animated comedy with any new rental agreement. The words, “These prices are the Bomb!” fill a smoky cloud on a page that features home furnishings mixed in with the Angry Birds characters first popularized by a hit mobile game app. TRIB is The Rental Industry Buying Group, with 180 members and nearly 4,000 stores. Its members will get first right of refusal before the promotion is offered to other RTO operators, said Erika Sparrow, Imagine’s vice president of sales. Dealers can reserve the promotion for $249 for their first two stores and $99 per store after that. Dealers with more than seven stores are asked to contact Sparrow for pricing. “We think that the rent-to-own retail channel is in need of some marketing that is new, exciting and fun,” Flora Stopher, Imagine’s president and owner, said in a release. “This franchise is a proven winner with moms, kids and entire families.” RTO dealers can include furniture, appliances, electronics and other categories in their marketing, she said, adding that Imagine also will have a dealer locator for consumers to access the dealers running the event. In the statement, TRIB Executive Director Dennis Shields called the promotion an “awesome opportunity.” “Angry Birds has been popular for a long time, and this movie will only enhance its popularity,” he said. “TRIB Group members who take advantage of this opportunity with Imagine and Sony will definitely set themselves apart with this first-class promotion.”For more information, contact Sparrow at [email protected], or (509) 220-9694, or visit Imagine’s booth at the High Point Furniture Market at the North American Home Furnishings Assn.’s Retailer Resource Center, Plaza Suites, 1st floor - space #13 |
